This album goes down a different path than the straight and narrow, but never strays far from my ongoing vision. Like most of my music, it's about past inspiration and future ideas. I took that ol' vinyl road down highway 45 (and occasionally 33) back to the days of raw melodic funk, and added my own flavor that's rooted in my years as a Hip-Hop producer, and my current 'no need for genre labels' mentality. Funky guitar licks, crunchy bass sounds, hip-hop drum patterns, and of course those soulful vocals are all there. So grab "Off Course, But On Point" and blast the funk off... into space-soul orbit!
